The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness. — Jeremiah 31:2
No-Man’s-Land is the term used to describe the central United State. After the demon invasion most survivors fled east past the Mississippi River into the safety of the surviving United States. The area west of the Mississippi River is dangerous and contested territory. The US government did not have the resources to hold this area so they pulled back and abandoned it. Many residents chose to stay and fortify their settlements against the demon attacks.
